Every citizen enjoys the protection of his property under Articles 23 & 24 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.

Forcible taking over possession of land of citizen by state functionaries without acquiring the land in accordance with law and without payment of any compensation is not only illegal but also unconstitutional.

The illegal occupant State Department shall be liable to pay the rental of the said land till its acquisition, payment of compensation or till surrender of the possession to the owners.
